The Global Partnership for Education – Teacher Support Programme (GPE-TSP), implemented through the President’s Office – Regional Administration and Local Government (PO-RALG), is coordinating several initiatives to improve the teaching workforce, including the recruitment of volunteer teachers.
Through this program, 694 volunteer teaching positions are available in primary schools across selected Local Government Authorities (LGAs) that have the greatest need for teaching support. This placement follows the Primary Teacher Allocation Protocol (P-TAP) outlined in the GPE-TSP project documentation.
Eligible graduates from recognized teacher training colleges are invited to apply for these volunteer opportunities via the Online Teachers Application System (OTEAS) between May 17 – May 30, 2025. The call is open for both Certificate and Diploma graduates in education.

2.0 Academic Qualifications Required
Applicants must meet one of the following qualifications:

3.0 General Requirements for Applicants
Applicants must:
- Be Tanzanian citizens.
- Be 43 years old or younger.
- Attach copies of the following:

- Form IV or VI certificate
- Teacher training certificate
- Be willing to work in remote or underserved primary schools with high teacher demand.
- Not be employed by government or any institution.
- Have no prior dismissal or forced retirement from public service for misconduct.
- Possess a National Identification Number (NIDA).
- Attach all required documents in the online system.
- Applicants who completed secondary education outside Tanzania must obtain an Equivalent Number (EQ…) from NECTA.
