The Executive Director of Babati District Council invites applications from qualified Tanzanian citizens to fill five (5) vacancies. These opportunities have been approved by the President’s Office, Public Service Management and Good Governance.
1. Driver Grade II – (5 Posts)
Key Duties
- Inspect vehicles before and after trips to ensure safety.
- Transport staff to official destinations.
- Carry out minor vehicle repairs and maintenance.
- Maintain and update the vehicle logbook for every trip.
- Collect and deliver official documents.
- Keep the vehicle clean.
- Perform any other related duties as instructed by the supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must have completed Form Four (O-Level) and hold a valid Class “E” or “C” driving license.
- At least one (1) year of accident-free driving experience.
- Must possess training certificates that qualify for the respective license category.
- Must have attended a Basic Driving Course from VETA or another government-recognized institution.
Salary Scale
Government Salary Scale: TGS B.
General Application Conditions
- Applicants must be Tanzanian citizens, aged between 18 and 45 years.

- Certified copies of academic certificates must be attached (Form Four, Form Six, and professional training).
- Provisional results, testimonials, and results slips (Form IV & VI) will not be accepted.
- Applicants with foreign qualifications must ensure their certificates are verified and approved by the relevant authorities (TCU, NECTA, NACTVET).
- Retired public servants are not eligible unless they have special permission from the Chief Secretary.
- Applicants for Driver Grade II must attach their driving training certificates.
- Applicants already employed in entry-level public service positions should not apply.
- Any applicant who provides false information will face legal consequences.
- Applicants with name discrepancies on documents must attach a Deed Poll (legal name change document) registered with the Ministry of Lands.
