Overview
Power Providers was founded in by Clive Jones, a British national who has been living in Tanzania for over 30 years, together with three Tanzanian partners. He started Power Providers in 2007 to address a growing need for quality (solar) power systems in remote areas in Tanzania.
It has grown ever since based on the conviction that developing alternatives to fossil fuels is imperative for sustainable human development. In 2013, 2014 and 2015 Power Providers was acknowledged in the KPMG/Citizen annual awards as one of the Top 100 Midsized Companies in Tanzania.
Today Power Providers’ client list includes hospitals, schools, major tour operators, hotels, farms and industrial facilities as well as NGOs and conservation organisations.

Vision
Power Providers will continue to pioneer the mainstreaming of renewable energy in the Tanzanian power sector in order to contribute meaningfully to the strengthening of Tanzania’s power security and a wider distribution of power nationally.

Directions
The Power Providers Office is located in Arusha in the Sakina district, about 400m from the Arusha – Namanga Road.
From Arusha town drive past the Sakina Supermarket up the hill. When reaching the top of the hill turn you need to take the dirtroad opposite the Arusha Modern School (you will need to pass this road first and turn around off the mainroad to reach it via the sideroad).
At the T-junction take a left followed by two times an immediate right. After about 200 meters Power Providers is located on the right.
