In this blog post, we explore the eligibility criteria for applicants with A-Level qualifications and diploma holders, as well as equivalent qualifications, for medical programs at MzU.
i). Applicants with A-Level Qualifications (Direct Entry Scheme):
Local and international students aiming for direct entry into medical programs at MzU must meet the following criteria:
- Completion of Form 6 or its equivalent with three principal passes.
- A minimum of a D grade in Chemistry, Biology, and Physics.
- A minimum of 6 points or equivalent based on the grading system.
ii). Applicants with a Diploma or Equivalent Qualifications:
a) Diploma in Clinical Medicine:
- An average of “B” or a minimum GPA of 3.0 in the Diploma in Clinical Medicine.
- A minimum of a “D” grade in any five (5) non-religious subjects at O-Level.
OR
- Foundation Programme of the OUT with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
b) Holders of BSc Degree (Lower Second or above) with the following majors:
- Physics/Mathematics.
- Chemistry.
- Biology/Zoology.
Equivalent Applications:
Mwanza University (MzU) welcomes applicants with equivalent qualifications for the following medical programs:
- Clinical Medicine.
- Pharmacy.
- Medical Laboratory.
